HOW IT HAPPENED
- MCLA posted the game's first goal when junior defenseman Luc Fricchione (West Springfield, MA / Worcester State) (3:05 of 1st period, unassisted) put home a rebound of a wide shot that hit off the wall hard and bounced back to the defenseman. The goal was the second of the season for the junior transfer.
- The Owls responded by putting up two goals of their own. The first came on a power play and was credited to Cooper Board (PP, 15:09, assisted by Ouellet & Seguin) while the helpers were from Louis Ouellet and Raphael Seguin. The second goal came as the time clicked off late in the period, and was scored by Ouellet (19:08, Board & Pichette) assisted by Board and Emile Pichette.
- The Trailblazers found an equalizer quickly into the second period. Junior forward Cade Herrera (Brentwood, CA / Seahawks H.C) (0:44 of 2nd period, Perdion) lit the lamp for the home team, scoring his 10th goal of the year. The assist was credited to freshman forward Sam Perdion (Strongsville, OH / Charlotte Rush) and was his fourth of the season.
- The Owls answered back with three goals, one in the second period and two in the third. Seguin (PP, 6:18, Bonifay & Ouellet) scored what would become the game-winner on the power play with helpers being credited to Cannon Bonifay and Ouellete.
