Stolz Records First Shutout, Men’s Hockey Dominate Fitchburg, 4-0
LA scored four power play goals, taking down the MASCAC-leading Falcons.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The MCLA Men's Ice Hockey team welcomed the MASCAC leading Fitchburg State University Falcons to the Peter W. Foote Vietnam Veterans Memorial Rink for their penultimate regular season game of the 2025-26 season. Rocco Stolz recorded 30 saves enroute to his first career shutout, and four different Trailblazers scored power play goals as MCLA dealt the Falcons their third conference loss while extending the home team's win streak to three games.

HIGHLIGHTS
- MCLA posted the first score of the game just past the midpoint of the first period on the power play when junior forward Sean Neu (Wake Forest, NC / Protec Jr. Ducks) (PP, 10:11 of 1st period, assisted by Vukovic & Perdion) notched his first goal of the season. The assists were credited to freshman forwards Charles Vukovic (Castaic, CA / Express Hockey Club) and Sam Perdion (Strongsville, OH / Charlotte Rush). The assists were the first for Vukovic and the fifth for Perdion.
- The Trailblazers doubled their lead barely two and a half minutes into the second period, connecting on another power play opportunity. This goal was scored by junior forward Easton Moore (Red Deer, AB / Florida Eels) (PP, 2:38 of 2nd period, Gallagher & Murphy) with assists from junior forwards Christopher Gallagher (Albany. NY / Islanders H.C.) and Quinn Murphy (Champaign, IL / Philadelphia H.C.). The goal was number five for Moore and the assists were the fifth for Gallagher and the tenth for Murphy.
- MCLA stretched their lead to three before the close of the second period. This time it was junior forward Cody White (Orange, CT / East Coast Wizards) (PP, 13:45, Zis & Fricchione) wrapping up a power play opportunity for his first goal of the season. The assists were credited to sophomore forward Sam Zis (Boulder, CO / Connecticut Chiefs) and junior defenseman Luc Fricchione (West Springfield, MA / Worcester State) and were their sixth and third, respectively.
- The Trailblazers capped the scoring with another power play goal with just under two minutes to play. This goal was posted by Gallagher (PP, 18:07 of 3rd period, Herrera & Moore) for his fifth of the season. The assists were added by Moore and junior forward Cade Herrera (Brentwood, CA / Seahawks H.C). Moore added to his team-leading assist total, with his 15th of the year, while Herrera stayed second on the team with his 11th helper.
- Freshman goalie Roco Stolz (Bloomfield Hills, MI / Charlotte Rush) stopped all 30 shots that he faced to record his first career shutout and improved his record to 7-10-2. The shutout was the second for the Trailblazers since the program's reinstatement for the 2023-24 season. The last shutout was at Rivier University on February 7, 2025, and was also a 4-0 win.
