MCLA goalie Brady Larkin was selected as the NAC defensive player of the week
North Adams, MA-- MCLA goalkeeper Brady Larkin was selected as the North Atlantic Conference's (NAC) defender of the week as the league announced their weekly awards. Larkin is the first Trailblazer to collect the honor from the NAC. Joining Larkin as this week's honorees were SUNY Canton's Hunter Olsen (Player of the Week) and Alex Jacobs (Rookie of the Week).
Larkin allowed just seven goals in his lone start of the week against Albertus Magnus. Through four periods of regulation, Larkin made 14 stops while allowing only six goals for the visitors. He made one more save in overtime before the sudden victory for Albertus Magnus. In all, he tallied 15 saves while allowing only seven goals-against for a 68% save percentage and 6.69 goals-against average. Larkin currently holds the second-best save percentage (62%) in the NAC.
Larkin and the Trailblazers are finally competing in a full season. Both the 2020 and 2021 season were impacted by the ongoing pandemic. MCLA is off until March 12th when they head off to Wells College for non league action.
