Andolina, Kranz, & Polkowski Collect NAC All-Conference Honors
MCLA’s Anthony Andolina, Chase Kranz, & Quentan Polkowski have been named to the NAC Lacrosse All-Conference Teams.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— The North Atlantic Conference office today announced that senior attacker Anthony Andolina (Ballston Spa, NY) and sophomore goalie Quentan Polkowski (Marcellus, NY) have been named to the NAC All-Conference Lacrosse Teams. Polkowski was named to the first team, and Andolina to the second team. Freshman midfielder Chase Kranz (Leominster, MA) was named to the sportsmanship team.
Husson University's Kiernan Field was named the Player of the Year, while Owen Giorgio picked up Defensive Player of the Year. Rookie of the Year went to Maine Maritime's Ryan Parent, and Trey Marcil was named Senior Scholar Athlete. Husson's head coach, Mike O'Neil, and assistants Richard Ranaldo and Jeff Culkin were named the Coaching Staff of the Year after the trio guided the Eagles to a program-first NAC Men's Lacrosse Championship title.
Polkowski picked up his first NAC All-Conference appointments. The sophomore netminder started all 12 of MCLA's games. He was scattered among the conference leaders in many defensive categories, including ground balls per game (7th, 4.58), goals against average (5th, 11.75), save percentage (1st, .632), and saves per game (1st, 20.17). The sophomore recorded six of the top ten single-game save totals, including 32 saves at Husson on April 18th and 28 on April 18th at SUNY Delhi. He also became the MCLA lacrosse program's single-season leader in goalie wins with six, second in games played, and third in shots faced (383) and save percentage.
Andolina earned his second NAC All-Conference recognition, following his second-team honor last season. The senior started all 12 of MCLA's games; the attacker was among the conference leaders in goals per game (2nd, 3.50), points per game (6th, 4.42), and shots per game (2nd, 10.08). He also set a program single-game record with 11 goals at Mitchell College on April 23rd, as well as scoring six goals, including the game winner, in the Trailblazers season opener against the University of Southern Maine on February 28th.
