MCLA runs Crosstown at Plansky Invitational

The MCLA Trailblazers ran at neighboring Williams College today as the Williams men's cross-country team hosted the annual Plansky Invitational Saturday, which featured both a 5k and 8k on the men's side.  Located at Mt. Greylock High School, the Ephs' home course features two loops of the high school athletic fields and wooded areas surrounding them for the 8-kilometer (5 mile) distace.  Four college teams (Coast Guard Academy, MCLA, Keene State, and NEC) traveled to Williamstown to race in the fifty-degree weather and many Williams alumni also returned to their old course for the Plansky Invitational. 

The 8k was dominated by Williams alums Macklin Chaffee (who now runs professionally) and Chris Ellis-Ferrara with times of 26:19 and 26:27, respectively.  Coast Guard Academy runners Trevor Siperek and Nate Crum led their team to a first-place team trophy by finishing third and fifth. MCLA's top runner was Anthony Cancilla and he was followed by Nicholas Raby and David Eve. Cancilla finished with a time of 30:32.

MCLA will run next Saturday at the MASCAC championships hosted by Westfield State.
