Trailblazers Get Mixed Results on Opening Day
Ainsley MacDonald earned the season opening win in MCLA's 9-1 win over RIT.
The Trailblazers softball team won their season opener 9-1 in Ft. Myers, Florida at the Gene Cusic Classic. MCLA lost the second game 15-0 to WPI. Ainsley MacDonald picked up the win allowing two hits and striking out five.
The Trailblazers scored four in the third inning and three more in the fourth. Kayla Koumjian was 2-3 with a double and two rbi's. Angelica Perfido was 2-3 with a couple of runs scored and right-fielder Kaitland Hager also added a pair of hits. MCLA scored in four consecutive innings. R.I.T fell to 5-5 as they wrapped up their ten game Florida trip.
MCLA lost 15-0 in game two. Sam Barbarotta took the loss. MCLA could muster only three hits in the second game. Koumjian, Hager and Barbarotta each had a hit.
MCLA plays Mitchell tomorrow at 11am followed by an afternoon start versus Nichols.
