The Trailblazers dropped the early game to Suny-Potsdam in five innings 10-2. Potsdam scored five runs in the first inning off MCLA starter Ainsley MacDonald. The Trailblazers made five errors in game one and had ten on the day. The five errors led to six unearned runs, as MacDonald gave up ten total. MacDonald only allowed six hits, but walked seven. The Trailblazers got two back in the top of the third to cut it to 6-2. MCLA scored thanks to their only hit of game one courtesy of Taylor Warnock. Potsdam helped as well in the inning committing an error and a wild pitch. Potsdam tacked on two in the fourth and two in the fifth for the final margin.
Game two saw MCLA struggle to keep Stevens off the scoreboard as they fell 15-4. MCLA pitchers walked fourteen batters and the defense committed five more errors to hinder the effort.
The game was scoreless after three innings, but Stevens erupted for five in the top of the fourth. MCLA cut it to 5-4 by scoring two in the fourth and two in the fifth. Sam Barbarotta scored Angelica Perfido with an RBI single in the fourth and Perfido returned the favor plating Katelyn Lantange in the fifth.
The game unraveled in the sixth for MCLA as Stevens scored ten times on seven hits and five walks.
Perfido was 2-3 with two runs scored and Barbarotta was 1-3 with a run and an rbi. MacDonald falls to 1-3 on the season.
The Trailblazers fall to 1-5 and are off until Tuesday when they take on New Jersey City and Richard Stockton.
