Quackenbush repeats as MASCAC Pitcher of the Week
MCLA freshman hurler Rachel Quackenbush has been named the MASCAC Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive time.
North Adams, MA- MCLA freshman hurler Rachel Quackenbush has been tabbed the MASCAC Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive time following her impressive performance on Saturday. Quackenbush earned both victories in the Trailblazers' sweep over Bridgewater State.
Quackenbush, who hails from Hoosick Falls, NY, came out of the bullpen in the opening game to shut down the Bears, before tossing a complete game in the nightcap. She tossed nine innings over both games and struck out 16 hitters. She also threw ten innings in a midweek doubleheader with Springfield. The freshman fanned 22 hitters on the week and allowed just 14 hits.
Quackenbush and MCLA will look to continue their climb in the MASCAC standings when they will challenge Salem State University this afternoon. The Vikings are currently atop the standings while MCLA is in the rear view mirror.
