2014 MASCAC Softball preseason poll
North Adams, MA- The MCLA softball team was selected to finish second in the 2014 MASCAC preseason poll released this morning by the conference offices. The Trailblazers fell in the 2013 MASCAC championship game a year ago.
Defending regular season and tournament champion Bridgewater State was tabbed as the favorite to win it all. The Bears received six first place votes and collected 62 points to lead the poll. The Trailblazers received the other two first place votes and tallied 55 points to easily outdistance Fitchburg State (41 points) in third place.
Salem State was fourth followed by Framingham State, Westfield State, Worcester State, and Massachusetts Maritime.

The Trailblazers are led by last season's coach of the year Mike Ameen, who is entering his fourth season at the helm. MCLA begins its season on March 7th in Fort Myers, FL.
