Softball releases Spring 2022 Schedule, set for 38 game slate
The MCLA Softball team will open their season at the Spring Games in Clermont, Florida this March
North Adams, MA-- Although the holiday season is upon us, it is time to start looking ahead to Spring. Beginning in March, the MCLA Softball team will compete in a 38 game schedule that will begin at the Spring Games in Clermont, Florida. As usual, all contests on the schedule are Doubleheaders. The Trailblazers are looking forward to a full season as the last two have been hindered by the ongoing pandemic.
MCLA will head south for a ten game slate in the sunshine state. The season opening games will feature ten different opponents that will be announced in early January. The Trailblazers haven't been to Florida since the 2019 season.
Upon returning to the Berkshires, MCLA will open with a pair of road tilts at Albertus Magnus and Bay Path before turning the calendar to April. League play will begin for MCLA on April 2nd when they host Bridgewater State. Those contests mark the home openers for the Trailblazer nine. Another home date with Sage is next before MCLA plays three straight road games. Matchups with Worcester State, Cobleskill, and Sage wrap up the road trip before MCLA returns home to host Framingham State on April 15th.
Heading down the home stretch the Trailblazers compete in road games against the likes of Salem State, Union (NY), and Mass. Maritime before hosting two of their final three games. A midweek twinbill with Westfield State is at home and just two days later the MCLA nine take the short trek to Williams. Closing out the schedule is Senior Day on April 30th against Fitchburg State.
The MASCAC playoffs are set for the first week in May.
