Staffier Claims MASCAC Player of the Week Honors
MCLA’s Ella Staffier has been selected as the MASCAC Softball Player of the Week.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— MCLA's Ella Staffier has been selected as the MASCAC Softball Player of the Week, as announced by the league earlier today.
The junior second baseman from Marshfield, MA, batted .722 (13-for-18) with a double, two triples, five RBI, eight runs scored, three walks, eight stolen bases, as well as a .762 on-base percentage, and 1.000 slugging percentage in a 3-3 week for MCLA. She had a hit and scored a run in each of the Trailblazers' six games, going perfect at the plate in four of those contests. Staffier went 3-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base in the 12-11 setback to Rutgers-Newark. She was 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, two RBI, a walk, two stolen bases, and two runs scored in the 15-4 win over St. Norbert.
Staffier and MCLA are back in action this Thursday when they host Elms College at the Zavatarro Athletic Complex for a non-conference matchup with the Blazers. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
