Teta Named MASCAC Softball Player of the Week
MCLA’s Maddy Teta has been selected as the MASCAC Softball Player of the Week.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— MCLA's Maddy Teta has been selected as the MASCAC Softball Player of the Week, as announced by the league earlier today. Teta is joined by Westfield State's Katherine Canty who was named Pitcher of the Week and fellow Owl Joss Mettey who took home Rookie of the Week honors.
Teta's impressive week included batting .667 (12-for-18) with four doubles, three triples, four RBI, five walks, four stolen bases and ten runs scored as well as a .739 on base percentage and a 1.222 slugging percentage leading the Trailblazers to a 4-2 week, including a 3-1 mark in MASCAC play against Mass. Maritime and Fitchburg State.
The graduate outfielder went 6-for-7 with three doubles, a triple, two RBI and four runs scored in the doubleheader sweep of Mass. Maritime and had a triple, an RBI, three walks, three runs scored and a stolen base in the doubleheader split with Fitchburg State.
Teta and MCLA are back in action this afternoon when they host Union College at Shewcraft Field for a non-conference matchup with the Garnet Chargers. First pitch is scheduled for 3pm.
