Hannah Gilbert Claims MASCAC Pitcher and Rookie of the Week Honors
MCLA’s Hannah Gilbert has been selected as the MASCAC Pitcher and Rookie of the Week.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— MCLA's Hannah Gilbert (Colrain, MA) has been selected as the MASCAC Softball Player of the Week, as announced by the league earlier today.
The first-year pitcher and infielder from Colrain, MA, threw two complete game shutouts this week, going 2-0, including a five-inning no-hitter against SUNY Cobleskill. In ten innings pitched, the first-year hurler allowed only three hits and two walks while striking out 12 batters. Against Cobleskill, Gilbert struck out three in MCLA's 8-0 five-inning win and against Vermont State Johnson she allowed only three hits with a pair of walks while striking out nine batters as the Trailblazers won again, 8-0 in five innings.
Gilbert and MCLA are back in action this Tuesday when they host New England College at Shewcraft Field for a non-conference matchup with the Pilgrims. First pitch will be at 2 p.m.
