Hannah Gilbert Claims MASCAC Rookie of the Week Honors
MCLA’s Hannah Gilbert has been selected as the MASCAC Rookie of the Week for the third straight week.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— MCLA's Hannah Gilbert (Colrain, MA) has been selected as the MASCAC Softball Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league earlier today.
The first-year pitcher and infielder from Colrain, MA batted .368 (7-for-19) with five home runs, ten RBI, three walks, and eight runs scored from the plate while going 1-1 from the circle, where she tossed a 5-inning no-hitter against Anna Maria to complete the conference sweep. She homered in four of six games this week, including two in the second game at Bay Path, leading MCLA to an 8-2 win.
Gilbert and MCLA are back in action this Tuesday when they host Westfield State University at Shewcraft Field for a MASCAC matchup with the Owls. First pitch will be at 2 p.m.
