Nevaeh Lopez Claims MASCAC Rookie of the Week Honors
MCLA’s Nevaeh Lopez has been selected as the MASCAC Rookie of the Week for the third straight week.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— MCLA's Nevaeh Lopez has been selected as the MASCAC Softball Player of the Week, as announced by the league earlier today.
The first-year shortstop from Pittsfield, MA, batted .538 (7-for-13) with three doubles, two RBI, two walks, and four runs scored, as well as a .563 on-base percentage and .692 slugging percentage, helping MCLA to a 2-2 week. She went 5-for-6 with a double, two RBI, a walk, and two runs scored in a non-conference sweep at Union College. Lopez had a pair of hits, including a double, along with a walk and two runs in the regular season-ending doubleheader vs. Worcester State.
Lopez and MCLA are back in action this Tuesday when they travel to Alumni Field at Salem State for a MASCAC playoff matchup with the Vikings. First pitch will be at 5 p.m.
