Wehner adds NEWBA honor to her collection
One day after being named the MASCAC player of the week, MCLA's Jen Wehner was chosen as the New England Women's basketball association player of the week.
MCLA junior forward Jen Wehner has earned the NEWBA/PrestoSports Player of the Week award for the week of December 6-12. Wehner averaged a double-double on 25.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week for the Trailblazers. She amassed 4.3 blocked shots and 2.0 steals per outing while converting and eye popping 81.1% (30-37) of her shots from the floor. The forward posted double-doubles in all three of her games. She got the week started with 29 points and 11 boards in her team's 83-75 setback at the Albany College of Pharmacy on Tuesday. Wehner followed that with 23 points, 12 rebounds, six blocks and a pair of steals in MCLA's 79-66 triumph over Hartwick College on Thursday. She then closed out her outstanding week with 24 points and 11 boards in a 78-51 victory over Johnson State College on Saturday. She made all 11 of her shots from the field in the contest while logging only 20 minutes.
