MCLA doubles up Wheelock, moves to 7-3
Every Trailblazer checked into the scoring column during a 64-32 victory over Wheelock College at the Amsler Campus Center. With the win, MCLA moves to 7-3 heading into the semester break.
North Adams, MA- The MCLA Trailblazers won their third straight game defeating visiting Wheelock College 64-32 at the Amsler Campus Center. Every Trailblazer in uniform checked into the scoring column on the night. With the win, MCLA is improves to 7-3 heading into the break. Wheelock drops to 2-5.
MCLA used an 11-4 run to close the half putting the hosts up 30-15 at the break. The half was marred by turnovers as Wheelock committed 17 while the Trailblazers themselves had 15. MCLA held Wheelock to 17% shooting in the opening half en route to their fifteen point advantage.
The second half was more of the same, however the Trailblazers gradually pulled away for the victory.
MCLA was led by Jen Wehner who would tally her sixth straight double double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Olivia McMullen also chipped in with 11.
For Wheelock, Kayla Drescher led the way with nine points.
The game was marred by turnovers as Wheelock ended the night with 34 turnovers, while MCLA committed 23.
MCLA is off until the New Year when they travel to Union College on January 5th.
