Wehner adds third MASCAC player of the week award
MCLA junior Jen Wehner continued her stellar play this week collecting her third MASCAC player of the week award of the season. Wehner now leads the conference in four statistical categories.
North Adams, MA- MCLA junior forward Jen Wehner continues to produce huge numbers for the Women's Basketball team as she was named the MASCAC player of the week for the third time this season on Sunday afternoon. Wehner averaged a double double effort of 22 points and 16.5 rebounds to go along with five blocks per game as MCLA moved to the top of the conference standings raising their record to 11-5 overall, 3-1 in the league.
Wehner began her week with a monster performance at home against Framingham. She tallied 27 points and 21 boards in the Trailblazers 65-53 victory over the Rams. She would follow that up with a 17 point, 12 rebound day in a home win against Fitchburg.
Wehner ranks near the top in a few statistical categories nationwide, as she is third in double doubles, while placing 12th in rebounds per game. She also leads the MASCAC in four categories: scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, and blocks.
Wehner and the Traiblazers will face a pivotal matchup this Wednesday when they travel to Bridgewater State.
