Buzzards Bay, MA- MCLA forward Jen Wehner continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the MASCAC as she was named the conference's co-player of the week. It is the fourth time she has been honored by the conference this season. Wehner shared the honors this week with Ashley Finnegan of Westfield State.
Wehner had a memorable week for the Trailblazers. On Tuesday, she became the first junior in program history to notch her 1,000th career point against Westfield. She collected 22 points and 17 rebounds in that game. She would follow that milestone up with a monstrous 32 point, 25 rebound effort, both career highs, in a road victory at Salem. Wehner would end the week with yet another double double, notching 21 points and 13 boards in road win at Framingham.
For the season, Wehner leads the conference in scoring, rebounding, and Blocked shots. The Trailblazers are currently in third place in the league with a pair of games remaining. MCLA will travel to Fitchburg on Tuesday before hosting Bridgewater State on Saturday on senior day.
