Wehner adds ECAC honors to her impressive week

North Adams, MA- MCLA forward Jen Wehner was named the ECAC Player of the Week following her performances through February 13th. Wehner averaged a career best 25 points and 18.3 rebounds on the week, including notching her 1,000th career point.
Wehner was nearly unstoppable in a 2-1 week for the Trailblazers. The forward piled up 25.0 points and 18.3 rebounds per game while shooting 60.5% (26-43) from the floor and 78.6% (22-28) from the charity stripe. With her 22 points against Westfield State University on Tuesday, she became the first player in program history to reach the 1,000-point plateau during her junior season. Wehner exploded for a career best 32 points to go with 25 boards in a 72-60 victory over Salem State University on Thursday. Two days later, she closed her week out with a 21-point, 13-rebound performance in a 72-63 win over Framingham State University.
Wehner currently leads the MASCAC conference in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots. MCLA closes out the regular season Saturday at home against Bridgewater State.
