Women’s Basketball Fall on Road to Bard
MCLA dropped a non-conference game to Bard this evening.
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The MCLA Women's Basketball team took to the road this evening, traveling to the Stevenson Athletic Center for a non-conference matchup with the Raptors. Hailey Peabody and Abigail Scialabba each scored a dozen points for the Trailblazers who continued to knock off the rust of their missed season and couldn't find an answer for the Raptors and their hot shooting beyond the three point line.

- Score: MCLA 38, Bard 88

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MCLA had a high watermark very early in the game, opening the game with a 6-2 run in which the team drained a pair of three point shots in their first three possessions, forcing the Raptors to take an early timeout to settle their defense. Senior guard/forward Hailey Peabody (W. Springfield, MA) hit the first three 19 seconds into the game, while sophomore guard Abigail Scialabba (Williamstown, MA) buried the second to force the timeout by the home team.
- Following that early lead, Bard regrouped and the Trailblazers weren't able to find an answer. The hosts finished out the first quarter on a 14-0 run to go into the first break ahead 23-11. Scialabba and the Raptors' Shirley Dong each put up seven points in the first quarter.
- Bard added onto their lead in the second quarter, powered by nine points by Lexi Miller, draining four of her five field goal attempts. The teams went to the locker room at half time with the Raptors leading 41-19.
- The second half played out much like the first but it was Jessica Martin providing the fire power, shooting 8-13 in the second half, including a 7-12 showing beyond the arc. Martin would finish the night with a game-high 30 points, 24 of which happened after the intermission. Miller finished the game with 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Dong added 11 points and 12 rebounds.
- MCLA was led by 12 points each from both Peabody and Scialabba. Scialabba also had a team-high 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season.
