NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The MCLA Women's Basketball team welcomed the Westfield State Owls to the Amsler Campus Center Gymnasium this evening for the first home MASCAC game of the season. The Owls had three players finish in double figures, led by a game-high 16 points from Caroline Galvani.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Owls took control of the game early, outscoring MCLA 19-4 in the first quarter and then 25-9 in the second. Westfield State would go wire to wire enroute to a 90-22 win.
  • Caroline Galvani led all scorers with 16 points on six of 19 shooting, including four baskets from beyond the 3-point line, accomplishing it all in just 17 minutes for the Owls.
  • Westfield's Sophia Rockwood (13 points) and Kayley Downie (10 points), joined Galvani in the double-figure club.
  • The Trailblazers were paced by six points from junior guard Dakota Quick (Connelly, NY). Sophomore guard Abigail Scialabba (Williamstown, MA) and sophomore forward Amare Williams (Woburn, MA) were close on her heels with five points each.
  • MCLA's senior forward Ashlyn Bill (Windham, CT), finished the night with a game-high eight rebounds, one more than the Owls' Tavi Williams.
