NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The MCLA Women's Basketball team welcomed Anna Maria College to the Amsler Campus Center Gymnasium this evening for a MASCAC clash with the AMCATs. Arianna Gonzalez led all scorers with 18 points and Taylar Hodge scored 12 points in only 14 minutes off the bench to help AMC capture a win over the Trailblazers.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The AMCATs took a strong hold from the opening tip-off, outscoring the home team 16-6 in the first quarter, and then added a 24-5 second quarter to take a 40-11 lead into the halftime locker room. Anna Maria would never be threatened, taking the game 72-28.
  • The AMCATs' Arianna Gonzalez scored a game-high 18 points and recorded a game-high 14 rebounds. Gonzalez just missed a triple-double, finishing with seven steals.
  • Taylar Hodge joined Gonzalez in the double-digit point club, while Sarah O'Connor did the same with 10 rebounds.
  • The Trailblazers were led by eight points from sophomore guard Abigail Scialabba (Williamstown, MA) and six points by junior guard Dakota Quick (Connelly, NY). Quick also provided nine rebounds, matching up with senior guard/forward Hailey Peabody (W. Springfield, MA) for the team-high.
  • MCLA's senior forward Ashlyn Bill (Windham, CT) had a pair of blocked shots to go with found rebounds and an assist.
