Women’s Basketball Fall on Road at Framingham
MCLA dropped a MASCAC matchup this afternoon at Framingham.
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – The MCLA Men's Basketball team took to the highway this afternoon, heading down the Pike to Framingham State University for a MASCAC matchup with the Rams in the FSU Athletic and Recreation Center. Four home players scored in double figures, including three off the bench while Hailey Peabody led the Trailblazers with 16 points and six rebounds.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The home team held the advantage from wire to wire in this game, with Kiara Cerruti opening the scoring with a three-pointer on the Rams first possession and kicking off a 9-2 run to open the game. MCLA would hang around for most of the first quarter, with Senior forward Ashlyn Bill (Windham, CT) ending the FSU run with a three of her own. Senior guard/forward Hailey Peabody (W. Springfield, MA) concluded the first quarter with a jump shot as the clock expired, cutting the Rams' lead to 17-9.
- Framingham didn't let up in the second quarter, outscoring the Trailblazers 30-8 in the quarter. MCLA was led by Peabody, scoring six of the eight points, on the strength of a perfect three-for-three showing at the charity stripe. The other points came off a jumper from sophomore guard Abigail Scialabba (Williamstown, MA) 30 seconds into the quarter.
- The third quarter played out very similarly to the first two as Peabody and Scialabba combined for all five of the Trailblazers' points, while Jacqueline Schels did that on her own for the Rams, who took the quarter 26-5.
- MCLA's best quarter came in the closer, with junior guard Dakota Quick (Connelly, NY) leading the Trailblazers with six points on a pair of threes, while Peabody scored four points, and Scialabba added three.
- Schels led all scorers with 19 points, including a 4-7 showing beyond the arc. Schels also added five steals. Framingham had three players off the bench reach double-digit scoring, led by Evi Higgins with 12, followed by 11 from Haleigh Cyrus and ten from Kelsey Yelle.
- Peabody paced MCLA with 16 total points while adding six boards. Bill finished the game with five points, three boards, and two blocked shots.
