Bertrand Selected as First MASCAC Women’s Ice Hockey Player of the Week
MCLA’s Carlen Bertrand has been named as the MASCAC Women’s Ice Hockey Player of the Week.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.- MCLA sophomore defensemen Carlen Bertrand (Timmins, ON) has been selected as the first-ever MASCAC Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week. Plymouth State's Karlee Lehner (Prince Albert, SK) and Gracie Menicci (Pepperell, MA) took home Goalie and Rookie of the Week honors.
Bertrand scored four goals, including a pair of game-winners and two assists leading MCLA to a home-and-home season opening sweep over New England College. She had 2 goals and an assist with a +3 rating in the Trailblazers' 4-1 home season opening win over NEC followed by another 2 goals and assist in the rematch to lead MCLA to the 3-2 decision.
Betrand and the Trailblazers will next be in action this weekend when they visit Hilbert College for a pair of games on Saturday at 8:10pm and Sunday at 4pm.
