Granito snags MASCAC rookie of the week honors
MCLA freshman attacker Kim Granito has been tabbed the MASCAC rookie of the week following her performances last week. It marks the first honor for Granito in a Trailblazer uniform.
North Adams, MA- MCLA first year player Kim Granito has been named the MASCAC rookie of the week as announced by the league offices this afternoon. The honor marks the first for Granito and the Trailblazers in 2017.
Ali Laferriere of Fitchburg State was tabbed as the player of the week.
Granito had a solid week for MCLA playing a pair of contests. The Glenmont, NY native had seven goals, eight draw controls, and an assist in the 1-1 week for the Trailblazers. She scored four goals and added an assist in a 21-3 win over Green Mountain on Saturday. Prior to that, she tallied three goals in a 17-16 setback at Wentworth last Monday.
Granito is the teams leading scorer with 13 goals so far this season. Granito and the Trailblazers will take on Sage on Thursday as they continue their season.
