MCLA earns #4 seed in ECAC New England Championship, hosts Emmanuel on Wednesday

CAPE COD, Mass. -- The MCLA Women's Soccer team was awarded the fourth seed in this week's ECAC New England Championship tournament.  MCLA enters the tournament with a record of 14-5.  The tournament is an eight-team field with quarterfinal, semifinal and championship rounds.

MCLA, who advanced to the MASCAC final, will meet Emmanuel College (14-6-1) on Wednesday.  The Veterans Day contest will be played at home with kickoff set for 1:30pm. 

In the other first round contests on Wednesday,top seed Brandeis (9-6-3) will host Castleton (11-6-2) at 6:00 p.m., while the second seed Keene State (14-6-2) will face No. 7 Lesley University (15-4-1) at 6:00 p.m. at Keene State. Third seed University of New England (UNE) (14-3) plays University of Massachusetts-Boston (14-5-1) at 5:00 p.m., at UNE.

The first-round winners will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, November 14 hosted by the highest remaining seed. The winner of Brandeis/Castleton will face the winner of MCLA/Emmanuel at 1:00 p.m. in one semifinal, and the winner of Keene/Lesley will play the winner of UNE/UMass Boston at 1:00 p.m. in the other semifinal. The semifinal winners will meet Sunday, November 15 at 1:00 p.m. for the championship. Both semifinal and final games will be at the same location.
