Tietgens named MASCAC player of the week

MCLA senior forward Jess Tietgens was named the MASCAC player of the week as announced by the league offices Sunday. The honor is the first for Tietgens in 2010.

Buzzards Bay, MA- MCLA senior forward Jess Tietgens (Stamford, VT) was named the MASCAC player of the week as announced by the conference Sunday afternoon. The award is the first of the season for Tietgens, who has led MCLA to eight straight wins. MCLA is currently 9-2-2 overall while sitting atop the conference with a record of 4-0-1. The Trailblazers have two conference games remaining.

Tietgens collected a goal and an assist in a road victory at UMass-Dartmouth on Columbus Day before tallying the game winner in a 1-0 MASCAC win against Fitchburg. She currently leads the conference in goals and points.

Tietgens and the Trailblazers will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to RPI.
