MCLA grabs fifth seed in New England ECAC tournament
The MCLA Women's Soccer team was awarded a fifth seed in the upcoming ECAC New England Tournament. The regular season MASCAC champions will be heading to St. Joseph (CT) on Wednesday for a 2pm tilt.
North Adams, MA- The MCLA Women's Soccer team was awarded a fifth seed in the upcoming ECAC New England Tournament. The regular season MASCAC champions will be heading to St. Joseph (CT) on Wednesday for a 2pm tilt. St. Joe is the fourth seed. Keene State College drew the top seed in the eight team tournament.
MCLA, 10-2-6 overall, won the regular season MASCAC championship to earn the top seed in the conference tournament. The Trailblazers fell in the semifinal round to rival Bridgewater State on penalty kicks.
Under the two time reigning MASCAC coach of the year, Deb Raber, MCLA has put together four straight winning seasons. MCLA is led by all time leading scorer and the 2010 MASCAC player of the year, Jess Tietgens. She has collected 15 goals this season to lead the team.
MCLA had five players represented on the All Conference teams. Along with Tietgens, Kaitlyn Dano and Jen Wehner garnered first team honors, while Danielle Parenteau and Samantha Miller were named to the second team.
