MCLA's Wehner named MASCAC Player of the Week
Following a pair of shutouts, MCLA senior goalkeeper Jen Wehner was named the MASCAC player of the week. Wehner shared the honors with Jillian Kirouac from Fitchburg State.
Buzzards Bay, MA- MCLA senior Goalkeeper Jen Wehner has been named the MASCAC player of the week following a pair of shutouts in a 1-0-1 week for the Trailblazers. The honor is the first for Wehner in 2011.
Wehner began the week with a 1-0 shutout of Lyndon State on the road. In that contest, the senior stopped nine shots en route to her first victory of the season. She would follow that up with a 16 save performance in a MASCAC double overtime draw with Salem State.
Wehner, who was a first team All MASCAC selection as a junior, has made 90 saves on the season. She currently leads the conference in saves. MCLA will play at home on Wednesday against Green Mountain before hosting MASCAC rival Massachusetts Maritime on Saturday.
