Three Trailblazers named All MASCAC in Women's Soccer
MCLA Seniors Jen Wehner and Kaitlyn Dano, along with junior Kasie Harrington were named to the All MASCAC team following a vote of the league's coaches. Wehner and Dano were first team selections, while Harrington was a second team choice.
2011 All MASCAC Women's Soccer Team
North Adams, MA- Three MCLA Women's Soccer players were voted onto the All MASCAC team following a vote of the league's coaches. Named to the first team were seniors Jen Wehner and Kaitlyn Dano, while Kasie Harrington was a second team selection.
The selection of Wehner is her third straight first team nod, while it is the second consecutive for Dano. Harrington joins the team for the first time.
Wehner was a mainstay in goal all season long for MCLA. The senior stopped a conference leading 173 shots, more than 64 more than her closest competitor. She led the league in save percentage (.887) while finishing with four shutouts. The senior from Cooperstown, NY also topped the league with over ten saves per game.
Dano was a tough defender who anchored the backline ahead of Wehner. She was the defensive catalyst, often marking the opposing teams top performer. The senior from Schoharie, NY was the unquestioned leader of the defense all season long.
Joining Dano in the backfield was Harrington. The junior from Dalton, MA, Harrington began the season in the midfield. Following a few early matches, Harrington was moved to the backline where she excelled. She started 16 games this season and also added an assist.
MCLA finished the 2011 season at 6-10-1 overall.
