North Adams, MA- MCLA Trailblazer freshman Natalie Caney earned her second consecutive rookie of the week honor after recording a hat trick at SUNYIT on Tuesday. The honor marks the third time Caney has claimed the honor this season.
Caney notched the hat trick in a 4-0 win over the SUNYIT Wildcats on Tuesday. She tallied a goal in the opening half before scoring a pair in the second half to aid MCLA in pulling away. The talented freshman from Belchertown also added a hat trick in the season opener vs. Minnesota-Morris earlier this season.
Caney has eight goals on the season. MCLA and Caney will battle Mount Holyoke on Tuesday before resuming MASCAC play on Saturday when they travel to Fitchburg State for a key matchup.
