Waterhouse earns lone point as Tennis falls at Thomas (ME) 8-1
Trailblazer freshman Rebecca Waterhouse earned the lone point in MCLA's loss at Thomas (ME) this afternoon.
Waterville, ME- The MCLA Women's Tennis team traveled up to Waterville, ME to battle fellow NAC foe Thomas College. The Trailblazers recieved a singles point from Rebecca Waterhouse, however were swept the rest of the way in an 8-1 setback. The Trailblazers are now 1-9 on the season and 0-3 in NAC play.
MCLA dropped all three doubles matches to begin the match. Danielle Wiencek and Waterhouse put up a fight, but eventually fell 8-4 in the second match.
Needing a strong showing in singles, the Trailblazers couldn't seem to find any rhythm. Waterhouse claimed a point in the fourth slot, earning a 6-4, 6-4 win over Logan Bruneau. Kylie Dumas stretched her match to a third set, but ultimately dropped the final set 10-5.
All other matches were straight set victories for Thomas.
MCLA is back on the courts tomorrow when they travel to Anna Maria in Paxton, MA at noon.
