Women's Volleyball Closes Out Season
The MCLA Trailblazers closed out their season with a 3-1 loss at Salem State tonight.
Salem, MA - The MCLA Trailblazers closed out their season with a 3-1 loss at Salem State tonight. MCLA lost the first game, 25-19 before rebounding in game two, 25-8. Salem State won the last two games, 25-22 and 25-23 to win their final game of the season. The Trailblazers were tied with Framingham State and the Vikings for 4th place heading into their final two contests. The Trailblazers however, lost 3-2 last Saturday to Framingham and a Framingham win vs. Salem last night clinched the fourth and final playoff spot for the Rams.
The Trailblazers had some good individual performances in the season finale. Christina Kidd (Glens Falls, NY) continued her strong play of late leading the team with nine kills and adding fourteen digs. Amanda Lane (Swansea, MA) had twenty-four digs and Hayley Gundersen (Gansevoort, NY) added eleven. Junior Amanda Borsotti (Lee, MA) had six kills and five digs. Marta Brown (Glens Falls, NY) made her final collegiate performance; and Brown like she had done most nights here at MCLA led the Trailblazers with twenty-four assists.
MCLA finishes the season at 11-13 and 1-5 in the MASCAC.
