Volleyball splits on final day of Cazenovia Dig Pink tournament
The MCLA Volleyball team defeated New Jersey City this morning before falling to Elmira in the nightcap of the Cazenovia Dig Pink tournament, Julia Christian had 12 kills in the win over NJCU
Cazenovia, NY- The MCLA Volleyball team wrapped up play this afternoon in the Cazenovia Dig Pink tournament. The Trailblazers defeated New Jersey City in five sets this morning before falling 3-0 to Elmira in the nightcap.
MCLA now stands at 8-12 heading into a Columbus Day match with MASCAC foe Mass. Maritime. The Trailblazers snapped a six game skid with the win over NJCU this morning.
With the Trailblazers behind 2-1, MCLA would rally to win game four against NJCU 25-18. With the match now tied at 2-2, the Trailblazers would nip NJCU 15-13 in the deciding set to pull away.
MCLA fell to Elmira in three games, dropping sets of 25-8, 25-5, and 25-11.
Julia Christian led MCLA with 15 kills on the afternoon, including 12 in the win. Darien Quick added 9 kills in the win.
The Trailblazers will be back in action on Monday looking to break into the conference win column against Mass. Maritime at Noon.
