Brown and Greeley Collect MASCAC Player of the Week Honors
MCLA’s Elizabeth Brown and Kaelynn Greeley have been named as the MASCAC Volleyball Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.-- The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) announced earlier today that Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) senior outside hitter Elizabeth Brown (Lee, MA) and first-year outside hitter Kaelynn Greeley (Corona, CA) have been named the Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively. This is the first Player of the Week honors for both athletes this season.
Brown had 26 kills, 20 digs, and five service aces in three matches this weekend at the Keuka College Invitational. The senior outside hitter produced 14 kills, eight digs, and four aces in the Trailblazers' season-opening 3-1 win over Keuka. She finished her weekend with 12 kills and 12 digs in a pair of setbacks versus the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford and Hilbert College.
Greeley had 27 kills and 27 digs in her first four collegiate matches, helping MCLA to a 2-2 start at the Keuka College Invitational. The first-year outside hitter had 10 kills and nine digs in a 3-1 win over the host Wolves and nine kills and nine digs in a 3-0 setback versus Pittsburgh-Bradford, along with nine kills and nine digs in a day two split with Hilbert (L, 3-1) and SUNY Canton (W, 3-1).
Brown, Greeley, and the Trailblazers are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to SUNY Cobleskill for a 6 p.m. matchup with the Fighting Tigers at the Iorio Gymnasium.
