Volleyball Sweeps Past SUNY Delhi; Brown Registers 1,000th Career Dig
Elizabeth Brown notched her 1000th career dig as Volleyball swept SUNY Delhi in non-conference play this evening.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The MCLA Volleyball team welcomed the SUNY Delhi Broncos to the Amsler Campus Center Gymnasium this evening for a non-conference match. MCLA's Elizabeth Brown had a game-high 10 kills and recorded her 1000th career dig to lead the Trailblazers to a straight set win.

- Series History: MCLA remains undefeated by the Broncos, leading the all-time series 7-0, including a 3-2 win last season in Delhi on September 21, 2024. MCLA won the first-ever meeting of the teams on October 17, 2015, by a score of 3-2 in North Adams.
HIGHLIGHTS
- MCLA took the evening in straight sets, following a competitive first set that ended 25-23, before the Trailblazers raced out to 25-9 and 25-14 sets to close out the evening.
- The home team would never trail on the evening, and the match included only a single tie, at 1-1 in the first set.
- MCLA charged out to a 9-2 advantage in the first set, only to see the Broncos chip away, pulling with in one point at 12-11. With the teams trading points, the Trailblazers eventually pulled away for a second time, growing a lead of 20-15, forcing SUNY Delhi to use their second time out.
- With the MCLA momentum broken, the Broncos again pulled with in a single point at 24-23. Following a Trailblazers timeout, junior middle hitter Caroline Schmaling (Halifax, MA) ended the set with her third kill of the frame.
- Despite playing the first set closely, the Broncos couldn't muster similar results in the second or third sets.
- In the second set, first year outside hitter Kaelynn Greeley (Corona, CA) recorded six kills on nine attacks, good for a .667 hitting percentage. Overall, the Trailblazers had 10 kills on 16 attacks, good for a .625 attack percentage.
- The highlight of the evening came in the third set for MCLA, when senior outside hitter Elizabeth Brown (Lee, MA) recorded her 1000th career dig as part of a game-high total of nine. Brown also finished with a game-high 10 kills.
- Senior setter Shannon O'Brien (Unionville, CT) had a game high 19 assists, two more than Delhi's Laurel Poston's 17.
- The Trailblazers' first-year outside hitter Madison Maloof (Amsterdam, NY) ended the evening with a game-high four service aces.
