HOW IT WENT DOWN
- Framingham took the first two sets with scores of 25-17 and 25-22 before the Trailblazers rallied to take the following two sets with scores of 25-20 and 25-14. The Rams controlled play in the final set, never trailing, and took it 15-8.
- Framingham made the most of a 12-5 run in the middle of the first set to push out to an 18-9 lead before holding on to take the set, getting kills from five different players, including three each from Natalie Reynolds and Sarah Medeiros. Audrey Melson (Champlin Park, MN) paced MCLA with four kills in the set.
- The second frame also went the Rams' way, but it featured more back-and-forth play between the teams. The set included seven ties and four lead changes. Framingham again spread the wealth as six Rams claimed kills, including four each by Reynold, Medeiros, and Emma Dobbins. The Trailblazers' Kaelynn Greeley (Corona, CA) had what would be the match's highest single-set kill count with seven.
- MCLA picked up their first set of the match, going wire to wire, starting with a kill from Elizabeth Brown (Lee, MA) and capping it with a kill by Greeley. Greeley kept the momentum she built from the second set and carried it into the third, recording a team-high five kills in the frame.
- The Trailblazers leveled the match in the fourth set thanks to a 16-6 run in the middle of the frame. Brown led the way with six kills and was aided by eight assists from Addison Decaro (Eagle River, AK).
- With MCLA having improved their hitting percentage in every set leading into the final, the Rams found a way to break the Trailblazers' momentum, closing out the evening on a 9-3 run to secure the win.
