Greeley and Brown Collect MASCAC Conference Honors
MCLA’s Kaelynn Greeley has been named the MASCAC Volleyball Rookie of the Year and Elizabeth Brown has been named to the MASCAC Volleyball All-Conference First Team.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The MASCAC conference office today announced that freshman outside hitter Kaelynn Greeley (Corona, CA) has been named the MASCAC Volleyball Rookie of the Year and senior outside hitter Elizabeth Brown (Lee, MA) has been named to the MASCAC Volleyball All-Conference First Team.
Framingham State University's Natalie Reynolds was named the Offensive Player of the Year, while Worcester State's Katherine Crateau picked up Defensive Player of the Year. Bridgewater State's Tony daSilveira was named the BSN Sports Coach of the Year.
Greeley shared the team lead with 221 kills, good for 4th place in the MASCAC, a rate of 2.63 kills per set (7th in MASCAC), and a team-high 262.5 points (4th in MASCAC), 3.1 points per set (8th in MASCAC). The freshman posted double-digit kills in eight matches, with the season high being 21 kills in an MCLA 3-1 win at Fitchburg State on October 11th. She totaled six MASCAC Rookie of the Week awards en route to this Rookie of the Year honor.
Brown was the other half of the team lead with 221 kills, a team-high rate of 2.76 kills per set played (6th in MASCAC), and was second with 258.5 points (6th in MASCAC), good for a team-high 3.2 points per set (6th in MASCAC). The senior who recorded her 1000th dig earlier this season put up her best game in MASCAC play, tallying 17.5 points (14 kills, three aces, and an assisted block) in MCLA's 3-0 win over Anna Maria College on September 24th. She had a team-high 15 kills on three different occasions. Brown was named the MASCAC Offensive Player of the week for the week ending September 1st. This is Brown's second consecutive MASCAC All-Conference First Team selection, following places on the Second Team in 2022 and 2023.
Joining Brown on the All-MASCAC First Team were Bridgewater State's Ava Crane and Lily Welch, Framingham State's Reynolds, Westfield State's Lauren Carnes and Morgan Dority, and Worcester State's Crateau.
The All-MASCAC Second Team included Bridgewater State's Charlotte Sullivan, Fitchburg State's Stephanie Sardella, Framingham State's Stella Bailey, Mass. Maritime's Shayla Narodowg and Holly Sanders, and Salem State's Kailey Roche and Presley Shairs.
