Volleyball Earns 2026 ACVA Team Academic Award
The MCLA Volleyball team has earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the sixth time.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.—For the fourth consecutive year and the sixth time in program history, the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) Volleyball team has earned the 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.
Volleyball programs from across the country continue to prove their dominance off the court as 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball teams maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), to earn the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award.
"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."
Nine MCLA Volleyball players earned a spot on the Dean's List last Fall and this past Spring, with three earning a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Earlier this year, eleven players were named to the Fall/Winter MASCAC All-Academic Team and four earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors. As a team, the Trailblazers finished both semesters with impressive 3.381 grade point averages.
The MCLA Volleyball team previously received the AVCA Team Academic Award in 2019, 2021, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
