HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game #1
- Mass. Maritime took control of the first game of the day early, posting four runs in the first inning on five hits. The runs were scored on a pair of two-run singles by Brayden Ramsey and Max Dunn.
- MCLA scored what would be their lone run of the afternoon in the third inning, scoring an unearned run in the top of the third. Joe Sardo (Great Neck, NY) opened the inning with a lead-off single of a 1-1 pitch into right field. Two batters later Clayton Dutfield (Delmar, NY) was hit by a pitch, putting two on with only one out. Roshan Warriar (Pittsfield, MA) then brought Sardo home with a lined shot to the third baseman, who saw the ball take a sharp bounce off his shoulder into left field.
- MMA added an extra insurance run in the fifth inning on Ramsey's RBI double down the right field line that brought Nate Kaczynski around.
- The Bucs' Sean Hallissey allowed only the one run on three hits across seven innings and struck out seven to even his record at 3-3. Joshua Bissaillon (East Greenbush, NY) also went the distance for the Trailblazers but still dropped to 0-3 on the year.
- Game #2
- The Buccaneers scored runs in three different innings in the second game, plating single runs in the second and fifth innings, and scoring a pair in the sixth on a homerun by Jake Duffy.
- Ramsey picked up his fourth RBI of the afternoon, bringing Damon White home with a sacrifice fly in the second inning of the second game. White then picked up the RBI in the fifth inning, scoring Ryan Flynn on a bases-loaded walk.
- Chase Dwight (W, 5-3) threw a complete game shutout for the home team, scattering four hits across seven innings and striking out five. Warriar absorbed the loss in the second game, falling to 0-3 while throwing his first career complete game.
