Men’s Hockey Drop MASCAC Match to Anna Maria
MCLA fell in MASCAC play this evening.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The MCLA Men's Ice Hockey team welcomed Anna Maria College to the Peter W. Foote Vietnam Veterans Memorial Rink for their second straight MASCAC game. Christopher Gallagher notched his first goal of the season and Rocco Stolz recorded 33 saves, but the AMCATs got two power play goals from Braeden McKinnon help secure a 4-1 final score for the visitors.
THE BASICS:
- Date: Thursday, November 20, 2025
- Score: AMC 4, MCLA 1
- Records: Anna Maria College AMCATs 4-2-0 (MASCAC 2-0-0) | MCLA Trailblazers 1-3-2 (MASCAC 0-1-1)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Anna Maria scored the first goal of the game before most fans had an opportunity to warm their seats, scoring with less than two minutes expired off the clock. Nick LeVasseur (at 1:51 of 1st period, assisted by McElhinny & Redding) was credited with the goal with assists from Dylan McElhinny and Adam Redding.
- The Trailblazers responded before the frame was over. Junior forward Luke Rhoss (Monroe, NY / Philadelphia H.C.) started the scoring sequence, bring the puck through the neutral zone and dumping it into the right-side corner. An Anna Maria player forwarded the puck behind the net and around the boards where Rhoss again took control and passed out it out to junior forward Easton Moore (Red Deer, AB / Florida Eels) back near mid ice. The captain turned on the jets and skated into the offensive zone, around the back of the net and found junior forward Christopher Gallagher (Albany. NY / Islanders H.C.) crashing towards the net for a chip in before the AMCAT net minder knew that Moore had already passed behind him. The goal was the first of the season for Gallagher while the assists were the third for Moore and the first for Rhoss. The MCLA goal would send the teams into the first break knotted and one goal apiece.
- After Anna Maria enjoyed a 14-6 edge in shots in the opening frame, the shot distribution in the second period actually favored MCLA 12-11, but both of the tallies were in the score column for the visitors. Liam Wells (8:11 of 2nd period, Ring & Rynard) scored the first goal while the helpers went to Nolan Ring and Hayden Rynard. The second goal came on a power play opportunity by Braedon McKinnon (PP, 19:17 of 2nd period, Kalman) and with the assist from Kenny Kalman.
- McKinnon (PP, 5:00 of 3rd, Ring & Wells) added an insurance goal in the final frame, again doing so with a man advantage. The helpers were credited to Ring and Liam Wells.
- AMC's Matthew Hennessey finished the night with 22 saves on 23 shots to improve his record to 4-1-0. MCLA's freshman goalie Roco Stolz (Denver, CO / Charlotte Rush) suffered his first defeat of the season, stopping 33 shots but falling to 1-1-1.
