Volleyball Split Season Debut at Keuka College Invitational
MCLA split a pair of decisions at the Keuka College Invitational to open the 2025 season.
KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The MCLA Volleyball team opened its 2025 season this afternoon, meeting up with the Keuka College Wolves and the University of Pittsburgh – Bradford Panthers at the Keuka Invitational. Elizabeth Brown paced the Trailblazers to a 3-1 win in MCLA's 2025 season opener against the host Wolves. The team dropped their second match of the afternoon 3-0 to the Panthers.

- Records: MCLA Trailblazers 1-0 (MASCAC 0-0) | Keuka College Wolves 0-1 (Empire 8 0-0)
- Series History: Keuka College leads the all-time series 4-1. Keuka came away with a 3-0 victory when the teams last met last season in Keuka Park on September 2, 2023. The Wolves also won the first-ever meeting between the teams 3-0 on October 21, 2011, in North Adams.
HIGHLIGHTS (Game #1)
- The Trailblazers stormed back from a first-set stumble to win the match three sets to one. The scores were 20-25, 28-26, 25-17, and 25-21.
- Senior outside hitter Elizabeth Brown (Lee, MA) finished with a game-high 14 kills, and tied with first-year defensive specialist Reagan Jablonowski (Waterford, NY) with a team-high four service aces. Brown added an assisted block to bring her game-high point total to 18.5.
- First-year outside hitter Kaelynn Greeley (Corona, CA) joined Brown in the double-digit kill club and added another point on a service ace, totaling 11 points.
- Senior setter Shannon O'Brien (Unionville, CT) had a game-high 29 assists for MCLA, the most she has recorded in a single game since she notched 44 assists in the 2022 MASCAC quarter finals against Fitchburg State on November 1, 2022.
- Junior libero Beth Harris (San Antonio, TX) tied with Keuka's Gabby Rodriguez with a game-high 18 digs.
- Nina Scott led the Wolves with 12 kills, and Summer Elza led the home team with 23 assists.

- Records: University of Pittsburgh-Bradford Panthers 1-0 (AMCC 0-0) | MCLA Trailblazers 1-1 (MASCAC 0-0)
- Series History: This was the first-ever meeting of the teams.
HIGHLIGHTS (Game #2)
- The Panthers swept the match 3-0 with scores of 26-24, 25-20, and 25-13.
- Pitt-Bradford's Lillian Bentley had a game-high 16.5 points behind 12 kills, two service aces, a pair of solo blocks, and an assisted block. Alycia Wilson also cracked double-digit points on eight kills, one service ace, and one solo block.
- Greeley's eight points led MCLA, all recorded on kills. O'Brien again led the team with seven assists while recording both of the Trailblazers' blocks.
UP NEXT:
On Saturday, MCLA will be back in action when they continue playing at the Keuka Invitational with matchups against the Hilbert College Hawks and the SUNY Canton Roos at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center. The first match is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
