Volleyball Finish Keuka College Invitational with Win Over SUNY Canton
MCLA finished the Keuka College Invitation with a split against SUNY Canton and Hilbert College
KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The MCLA Volleyball team wrapped up their season-opening road trip to the Keuka College Invitation on a high note by taking down the SUNY Canton Roos in four sets behind the strength of four first-years combining for 19 kills.
MATCH #1:
- Date: Saturday, August 30, 2025
- Score: MCLA 1, Hilbert 3
- Records: MCLA Trailblazers 1-2 (MASCAC 0-0) | Hilbert College Hawks 2-1 (AMCC 0-0)
- Series History: Hilbert now leads the all-time series between the teams 2-0. The Hawks won the only previous meeting of the teams 3-0 as part of a tri-meet on September 14, 2007, at SUNY Poly.
HIGHLIGHTS (Game #1)
- The four-set opening match of the second day of the Keuka College Invitation went the way of the Hilbert Hawks, who swept the final three sets by scores of 25-10, 26-24, and 25-11. The Trailblazers took the first set 25-15.
- MCLA was led by six kills by senior outside hitter Elizabeth Brown (Lee, MA) and junior middle hitter Makenna Carter (Averill Park, NY). First-year outside hitter Kaelynn Greeley (Corona, CA) added eight points on four kills and four service aces.
- The Hawks were paced by nine kills each by Michaela Rice and Jenna Revak. Rice added four service aces and had one and a half blocks.

- Score: SUNY Canton 1, MCLA 3
- Records: SUNY Canton Roos 0-5 (SUNYAC 0-0) | MCLA Trailblazers 2-2 (MASCAC 0-0)
- Series History: Today's win for the Trailblazers knotted the all-time series between the teams at two wins each. MCLA won the last meeting of the teams by a score of 3-1 on September 2, 2023. The Roos won the first-ever meeting of the teams by a score of 3-2 on September 8, 2012. Both of those games took place at Keuka College.
HIGHLIGHTS (Game #2)
- MCLA notched the first two sets by scores of 25-19 and then closed the match out with a dominant fourth set, 25-12. SUNY Canton took the third set 25-16.
- Four first-year players combined for 19 kills to carry the Trailblazers to their second win of the season. Payton Yung (Schoharie, NY) had a team-high six kills and added a service ace to account for seven points. Greely and Tristin Hedges (Monmouth, OR) each had five kills, and Greely added a service ace. Mikayla Howlett (Harwinton, CT) provided three more kills and a pair of assisted blocks.
- Junior libero Beth Harris (San Antonio, TX) had a game-high six service aces and provided a team-high 10 digs.
UP NEXT:
On Wednesday, MCLA will be back in action when they travel to SUNY Cobleskill for a non-conference matchup with the Fighting Tigers at Iorio Gymnasium. The match is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
