HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Anthony Andolina (Ballston Spa, NY) (14:38 remaining in the 1st quarter, unassisted, & 13:49, unassisted, & 12:10, unassisted) kicked off the scoring for the Trailblazers, finding the back of the net three times in less than three minutes, and all before the home team could put their first point on the board. That first point would come on a man-up advantage when Marty Zoet (7:43, unassisted) finally broke through for the home team.
- The Trailblazers would then score the next 13 goals, starting with goals by Neal Brierley (North Adams, MA) (2:52, unassisted) and Carson Lewis (Barre, VT) (2:30, unassisted) to give MCLA a 5-1 lead going into the first intermission.
- The Trailblazers posted nine more goals in the second quarter and would go into the halftime break ahead 14-1. Lewis (12:52 remaining in the 2nd quarter, assisted by Brierley, & 2:59, unassisted) completed a hat trick before halftime with two more goals while Ty Roadcap (Troy, NY) (10:21, unassisted, & 7:33, Hemstock, & 0:25, unassisted) did the same. Josh Hemstock (Amity, CT) (10:52, Brierley, & 6:40, Leja) posted two goals in the second quarter, one assisted by Brierley and one by Logan Leja (Adams, MA). The two goals doubled Hemstock's season total to four goals. Andolina (9:27, unassisted, & 4:43, unassisted) added two more goals to bring his team-leading total to 18 goals through six games.
- MCLA scored four of the five goals scored in the third quarter. Freshmen Chase Kranz (Leominster, MA) (UP, 12:28, Brierley) and Keegan Covello (Woodstock, CT) (UP, 9:18, Andolina) both scored their first career goals, doing so with the Trailblazers holding a man advantage. The assist by Brierley brought his team-leading total assists to eight.
- Lewis (8:05, unassisted, & 3:10, unassisted) rounded out the MCLA scoring in the third frame, and the goals were sandwiched around the first Cyclone goal since the first period. The home team's goal was credited to Lucas Bova (3:14, unassisted).
- Lewis (UP, 12:48 remaining in the 4th quarter, & 10:04, unassisted, & 7:47, unassisted) wasn't done and scored three more goals in the final quarter. The eight-goal performance by Lewis tied a program record previously set three times by Nathan Haley, most recently in a 24-3 win over Mitchell College on February 26, 2023.
- There were two more goals scored in the game, one for each team. Roadcap (11:49, unassisted) set a new career-high with his four goals, topping his previous high of two goals, something he had done three times previously, most recently in the Trailblazers 11-5 win over Purchase on Saturday.
- Centenary set the final score when Zoet (4:06, unassisted) scored his second goal of the game.
- MCLA's Quentan Polkowski (Marcellus, NY) totaled 17 saves on 20 shots to secure the win, moving his record to 3-2. The Cyclone's Bohdan Olefirenko recorded 18 stops and fell to 0-2.
- The 22 goals scored by the Trailblazers were the most they have scored in a game since they defeated VTSU-Lyndon 23-4 on April 26, 2023.
