BANGOR, Maine – The MCLA Lacrosse team took to the road today, heading north for a North Atlantic Conference clash at John P. Boucher Field with Husson University. The Trailblazers' Ryan Gaynor scored his first career goal, but the Eagles held out for a 15-4 win.

- Series History: Husson leads the all-time series 5-0. The Eagles won the last meeting of the teams by the score of 21-9 in North Adams on April 26, 2025. They also won the first-ever meeting between the teams, 16-10, on April 16, 2022, in Bangor.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The teams opened the scoring by trading goals. First Husson's Dean Sinkler (14:05 remaining in the first quarter, assisted by Drew Clinch) scored just under a minute into play. The Trailblazers' Anthony Andolina (Ballston Spa, NY) (12:20, unassisted) leveled the score at 1-1 with his 27th goal of the season by firing off a laser beam from 15 yards out that slipped just under the crossbar.
- The Eagles would counter with five more goals by Dominic Hollenkamp (9:34, Drew Held), Kiernan Field (9:06, unassisted & 4:45, Cody Dingwell), and Taylor Schwalje (6:40, Field & 4:01, Hollenkamp), before Neal Brierley (North Adams, MA) (0:35, unassisted) capped the first quarter to end the quarter with the home team leading 6-2.
- The second quarter was more of a defensive struggle, with MCLA kept off the scoreboard. At the same time, Husson only scored three, two by Gabe Robinson (UP, 7:57 remaining in the 2nd quarter, unassisted & 0:09, assisted by Clinch) and one by Field (6:13, Schwalje) to go ahead 9-2 at the intermission.
- The Eagles added five more goals in the third quarter with tallies by Schwalje (9:37 remaining in the 3rd quarter, assisted by Field), Hollenkamp (7:51, Field), and three straight by Alek Duprey (UP, 2:53, unassisted & 1:41, Robinson & 0:00, Dingwell).
- The highlight of the third frame for the Trailblazers was Ryan Gaynor (Scotia, NY) scoring his first career goal. Following a save by Quentan Polkowski (Marcellus, NY), the defenseman went wide to give his goalie a target to start the clear. The junior then rumbled through the midfield, splitting a pair of Husson defenders to complete the clear, and then kept going, crashing towards the net before firing off a shot from about ten yards deep into the lower left corner of the net.
- The teams would trade scores in the fourth quarter, with each team posting one. MCLA scored first when Brierley (11:12 remaining in the 4th quarter, Lewis) netted his second of the day. The play started with Ty Roadcap (Troy, NY) streaking through the midfield and finding Carson Lewis (Barre, VT) to the right of the goal. Lewis quickly pivoted and fired a pass to Brierley about five yards out for a bounce shot in the left side of the net. The goal brought the junior's season total to 18, while the helper was the ninth of the season for Lewis. The final goal of the game was notched by the Eagles' Robinson (9:54, Clinch).
- Husson's Odin Burk stopped three of the five shots on net that he faced to improve his record to 9-3. For MCLA, Polkowski made a career-high 32 saves, besting the 31 shots that he stopped at SUNY Delhi last season on April 9, but still fell to 4-6.
