MCLA's National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebration continues to be a success
The MCLA Athletics department hosted their annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebration on Saturday. The department welcomed both adults and children to this year's program
North Adams, MA- The MCLA Athletics Department held their annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebration on Saturday prior to the MASCAC basketball season finale. The Athletics department welcomed both adults and young girls to campus to participate in this year's popular event. This year's theme was "Play Fair, Play IX".
This year marks the 32nd anniversary of annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day, a national observance celebrating the extraordinary achievements of women and girls in sports.
The department offers programming for both adults and girls. The girls were treated to free clinics in Basketball, Soccer, and Softball. Adults played Pickleball and had a tournament following an opening skills clinic.
Following the clinics, both were treated to lunch and then became special guests at the MCLA Basketball doubleheader versus Framingham State University. After the contest, the girls were invited to an autograph signing with the women's basketball team.
