Todd Galownia has been named as the next MCLA Softball Head Coach
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— Assistant Dean of Athletics and Recreation Laura Mooney has announced that Todd Galownia has been selected as the next Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) Head Softball Coach. Galownia takes over the reigns from interim co-head coaches Amanda Beckwith and Heath Isaacson who led the program last season.
"I am thrilled to welcome Todd to the Trailblazer team and as the new leader of our softball program," said Mooney. "During this nationwide search, Todd stood out with his ability to build a strong, championship culture as well as his passion for the sport. He brings the positive energy, technical acumen, and motivation needed to continue advancing the softball program."
Galownia comes to MCLA following more than a decade of high school head coaching experience and nearly twenty years as a travel league manager, primarily with the Ohio Outlaws. He spent the last five seasons at Lexington (Ohio) High School where he led the program to two district championships including this past season where the Lady Lex went 28-3 winning the Ohio Cardinal Conference (OCC) earning Galownia Coach of the Year honors.
"It's an honor to be chosen to lead the MCLA softball program. I would like to thank Laura and the entire search committee for giving me this opportunity," said Galownia. "I am extremely excited to work with the student athletes to help them achieve their goals and excel in the classroom, on the field and throughout the community."
Galownia will assume his duties on August 5th.
