MASCAC Player of the Week Release
North Adams, MA- MCLA senior forward Jen Wehner capped off a milestone weekend by being named the MASCAC Player of the Week on Tuesday. Wehner, who over the weekend became MCLA's all time leading scorer, collects the honor for the second time this season.
The reigning MASCAC player of the year, Wehner had a memorable weekend at the Southern Maine Holiday Classic. The six foot forward became the first player in program history to collect 1,000 rebounds on Friday, before breaking the schools all time scoring mark previously held by Pam Barton '94 on Saturday. For her career, Wehner now has 1,328 points and 1,027 rebounds for her career.
She began the record breaking weekend by totaling 18 points and 11 rebounds against Southern Maine, including the milestone rebound early in the first half. Wehner would follow that performance up by piling up 16 points and 18 boards against Wisconsin-Stout on Saturday. Her milestone bucket came midway through the second half. The senior added four blocks on the weekend as she earned All Tournament team honors. She shot 12-18 on the week (66%) from the floor.
Wehner and the Trailblazers return home Thursday night when they host Southern Vermont College at 7pm.
