Women's Soccer picked third in MASCAC Preseason Poll
The MCLA Women's Soccer program was chosen to finish third in a preseason poll conducted by the league's coaches. The Trailblazers finished with a school record 15 victories in 2010, including a trip to the MASCAC finals and ECAC semifinals under head coach Deb Raber.
Buzzards Bay, MA- The MCLA Women's Soccer team was selected to finish third in the 2010 MASCAC preseason poll conducted by the league's coaches. MCLA is coming off a school record 15 win campaign in 2009, including a trip to the conference finals and the ECAC semifinals. Westfield State is the preseason favorite to capture the championship.
The Trailblazers are under the direction of head coach Deb Raber, who is entering her eleventh season at the helm. MCLA will return a strong core from last years conference finalists, including all time leading scorer senior Jess Tietgens. Joining Tietgens from a year ago are All Conference selections Danielle Parenteau and Jen Wehner.
MCLA will open up at home Labor Day weekend against Hamilton (Saturday 9/4) and Smith College (Monday 9/6) at Shewcraft field. MCLA finished with 44 points in the poll.
